0009 CD packaging : Music CD Labeling System

Music CD Labeling System

0008 CD packaging : Shidlas- Saliami

Shidlas- Saliami

This is the CD package design of Lithuanian musician SHIDLAS, album named “Saliami Postmodern”. The CD is vacuumed like real salami and the sticker with contents is like it would be from a meat shop. It’s a great example of how you can get creative with the actual disc (the CD label).

0006 CD packaging : Rabbit children

Rabbit children

This fiery album art for Rabbit Children has a vintage and creepy vibe that seems to have been inspired in part by the film The Ring. This packaging is heavily reliant on its illustration which is strong. The images are quite striking and contain a great deal of personality. This is one CD package that I’m sure was well received by everyone who appreciates the visual art that goes into music.

The CD package industry may be on the decline but that decline also creates an opportunity to stand out from the crowd. For their new EP, Rabbit Children wanted to create a CD package that could both be used as a self promotion piece and appeal to music fans. The limited edition letterpress printed package, which includes an insert with illustrations inspired by the band’s music, was both sold at shows and sent to music journalists, radio stations and promoters, making it stand out from the typical CD comps and digital download cards.

0005 CD packaging : puerto desperta

puerto desperta

“A folded and stitched poster becomes an envelope that keeps a jewel-box inside. The title of the CD is “Puerto Despertar” (Port Awakening), hence a bundle of light rays on the front cover.”

0001 CD packaging : 'Mooi Besoedeling' 4th Zinkplaat album's

Zinkplaat - Mooi Besoedeling

"Zinkplaat" an Afrikaans pop-rock-blues-fusion band from South Africa.
Their fourth album comes shrink-wrapped with a scratch-off ink layer on both of front and back, as well as a guitar pick to scratch the ink off with. This album - ‘Mooi Besoedeling’ means ‘Beautiful Polution’. We believe this is a very good functional solution to the fact that a simplistic clean cd cover design stands out most from all the clutter on a store shelf, yet is very boring once bought. However one wants to read the album as a concept, people seem to love the scratch-off part
